Sharks, Blues coaches trade jabs over officiating
ST. LOUIS — Head coaches Peter DeBoer of the Sharks and the Blues’ Ken Hitchcock engaged in an interesting back and forth about the officiating during Monday’s off-day media availability.
St. Louis is one of the most penalized teams in the league, regular season and playoffs.
(We) need to make them pay a price for being the most penalized team in the power play, which we didn’t last night.
“We know we’re going to get chances on the power play against this team, one of the most penalized teams in the league during the regular season and playoffs,” DeBoer said then.
[...] I’m going to do my job, and if other guys want to whine and get other people to have to work for them, that’s up to them.
Nieto missed Game 7 of the Nashville series with an undisclosed injury and then missed Game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Sunday, though he did skate that day.
