Two local troupesshare the stage

Humanity and the frailties of human relationships take the forefront when Tim Rubel Human Shakes and Palanza Dance present a shared program of new works at Dance Mission this weekend.

Rubel’s latest choreographic effort, “Menace,” looks at the value society places on individual lives — why are some lives considered sacred and other lives treated as unimportant and expendable.

A reflection on an anxious and anxiety-inducing world, Rubel’s work invites the audience to consider why aggression is such a prominent reaction to moments of crisis and tragedy.
