Google working on virtual reality headset for Android
At its I/O developer conference in Mountain View, Google announced that it has already worked with phone manufacturers such as Samsung and Huawei to produce phones that meet the specifications of the platform, called Daydream.
Google also said it has made a basic “reference design” for a virtual reality headset that will work with the Android operating system and shared that design with its partners.
Some analysts had speculated that Google has designed an all-in-one VR headset that would not need to be tethered to a computer or attached to a smartphone, unlike some VR headsets already hitting the market.
Munster argues that VR devices could replace smartphones in the future, adding he believes the ability to do computing hands-free and through eye movement is better than typing or tapping on a screen.
