One dead in Vallejo house fire

A 5-year-old trapped inside a burning Vallejo home died Sunday morning in a house fire that injured the child’s mother and a teenage boy.

Crews arrived on scene to a two-alarm fire in the 800 block of Stella Street around 10 a.m. As heavy smoke and flames billowed from the home, neighbors who called in the emergency told dispatchers a child was trapped inside the home, fire officials said in a statement.

The child’s mother suffered second and third-degree burns and a teenage boy received minor burns, the fire department said in a statement.

Fire officials declined to release the victims’ names, citing privacy laws.
