People who donated bodies to medical program honored

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — People who've donated their bodies to science are being remembered by the medical students they've helped.

The University at Buffalo on Thursday held a ceremony for families of donors. First-year medical students were among speakers who talked about what the donations have meant to them and their medical education.

The anatomical gift program at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is the largest in the state, accepting about 600 donations a year.

UB holds a service for the individuals' families every other year.
