A’s send Jesse Hahn back to minors

CINCINNATI - A day after Rich Hill was placed on the disabled list, struggling Jesse Hahn was optioned to Triple-A Nashville as the A’s try to manage a struggling rotation.

The A’s also recalled pitcher Zach Neal and Max Muncy, who’s in the A’s lineup in right field for Friday’s opener against the Reds.

The rotation has posted a 6.51 ERA in the past 42 games — 7.70 in games not started by Hill.

With Hill going on the DL and Chris Coghlan traded to the Cubs on Thursday, the A’s have 24 players on their 25-man roster.
