UMass Amherst to get $15M for data science, cybersecurity

University officials say $12 million will be used to hire faculty and add courses at the school's Center for Data Science, and $3 million will support research at its Cybersecurity Institute.

At an event announcing the donation, Massachusetts Senate President Stanley Rosenberg said it will help make the state a national leader in cybersecurity.
