Green talks tech, arrest in Aspen
Just two days after being arrested for an alleged assault in East Lansing, Mich., Warriors forward Draymond Green found himself in quite a different environment Tuesday, joining a high-powered panel onstage at a Fortune Magazine technology conference in Aspen, Colo.
The moderator didn’t pull any punches regarding Sunday morning’s arrest, starting the discussion by asking Green, “What happened?”
Green was joined onstage at Fortune Braintorm TECH by Kevin Tsujihara, CEO of Warner Bros. and Maverick Carter, CEO of Springhill Entertainment and Uninterrupted, a media company in which Green is a founding member and investor.
Another key member of the Uninterrupted media empire is LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ star forward who clashed with Green on the court in the NBA Finals.
Again, Green was put on the spot, asked about the highly contentious and publicized on-court incident with James in Game 4 that helped change the course of the Finals.
Green participated in a wide-ranging discussion that touched on his future ambitions in technology and real estate, and his current endeavors with companies like Uninterrupted, which published a video chronicle of the NBA playoffs through the eyes of James and Green.
“That’s what’s making entertainment and sports so powerful,” said Green.
[...] before he can move on to those business interests — and handle his legal troubles — the Rio Olympics loom large in Green’s immediate future.
