Sheriff: Lenoir County teacher arrested for sex with student

According to a statement from the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office, Donnell Gordon Garris III was arrested Tuesday and charged with six felony counts of sexual act with a student.

The arrest was made after a tip was sent to Lenoir County Public Schools officials, which led to an investigation into a possible relationship between a student and teacher.
