Elderly pedestrian struck, killed by car

The accident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on the 800 block of Embarcadero Road and involved a pedestrian in his 80s, according to Palo Alto police.

Police and fire personnel responding to a call from the scene found the victim unconscious with major injuries.

The car that struck the victim was driven by a man from East Palo Alto in his 20s who remained at the scene after the accident, police said.
