Belch with Sir Toby Belch at ‘Twelfth Night’
Marin Shakespeare Company has hired some comic performers with impressive resumes to play the clowns in its production of “Twelfth Night.”
Michael J. Hume of Oregon Shakespeare Festival plays Sir Andrew Aguecheek, known for his self-awareness: “I am a great eater of beef,” he says, “and I believe that does harm to my wit.”
Audiences to this outdoor performance, under the direction of Lesley Schisgall Currier, are encouraged to partake of both beef and drink, wits and throats be damned; the Forest Meadows Amphitheatre opens an hour before curtain for picnickers.
