Walter Chun named Cal’s men’s golf coach

Longtime associated head coach Walter Chun has been promoted to Cal men’s golf head coach, the Bears announced Monday afternoon.

Desimone guided a club team to varsity status and a 2004 national title.

In his seven seasons as associate head coach, Chun helped the Bears reach six NCAA Championships.

Before becoming associate head coach, Chun spent five seasons as a Cal assistant coach and two as an administrative assistant.
