Cal’s Sonny Dykes says new social-media rules could ‘create issues’
Early Monday morning, NCAA rules permitted college football coaches to start retweeting, liking, sharing or reposting recruits’ tweets.

“The NCAA sometimes passes things without maybe thinking them through,” Dykes said Tuesday evening after the Bears’ second practice of training camp.
In a landscape built on trying to gain an edge on the competition, some programs might feel compelled to favorite or like everything that dots a recruit’s Twitter feed.
A retweet about a player’s girlfriend, after all, has nothing to do with football or the valued principles the sport promotes.
Cornerback A.J. Greathouse underwent season-ending shoulder surgery two weeks ago, and Dykes said he hopes to have the junior back for spring football. …
