Cadillac's XT5 midsize crossover replaces the SRX for 2017
After 12 years in the Cadillac lineup, the midsize SRX crossover has been replaced by the all-new XT5, which, from a distance, looks like it could be just the next generation of the SRX.
XT5 is offered in four trim levels, including the top-end Platinum ($62,500), on which all-wheel drive is standard.
The XT5 Platinum, which I haven't seen yet, includes unique interior and exterior trim and materials and combines them with the best-available high-technology features, GM says.
Features of this engine include variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation technology, which automatically switches to four-cylinder operation to save gasoline while cruising.
The engine is connected to a new 8-speed automatic transmission, which comes with Electronic Precision Shift, which General Motors says is the first electronically controlled transmission in a Cadillac.

The driver sees everything behind the car in the rearview mirror at all times, rather than having that unobstructed view that a rearview camera system gives only when the vehicle is backing up.

The cargo area can hold up to 30 cubic feet of stuff with the rear seatback in place, but that increases to 63 cubic feet with the rear seat folded.
