Universal Names New Director for ‘Pitch Perfect 3’

Elizabeth Banks cited family obligations when she dropped out as franchise helmer earlier this year

Unviersal Pictures has entrusted another female director with the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, after Elizabeth Banks dropped out in June.

The news was announced by Banks on Twitter The film will reunite alums Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow.

“Pitch Perfect 2” boasts the highest-grossing movie musical opening of all time, and its follow-up will be produced by series fixture Paul Brooks of Gold Circle Entertainment.
