Movie Ticket Prices Rise 3 Percent in Q3 Compared to 2015

Average ticket prices are up 3.2 percent this quarter over last year’s the third quarter, according to the exhibition lobbying firm the National Association of Theatre Owners.

Ticket prices rose to the highest point ever at $8.73 as of this year’s second quarter, NATO reported in July.

Ticket prices made a much higher jump in the first quarter this year — by 5.7 percent compared to 2015’s first quarter, from $8.12 in 2015 to $8.58 in 2016.
