Kelly: 49ers RB Hyde unlikely to play vs. Bucs

Carlos Hyde won’t practice again today and it would be “stretch” for the running back to play Sunday when the 49ers host the Buccaneers, head coach Chip Kelly said today.

Hyde sustained a shoulder injury Sunday in a 45-16 loss to the Bills and his right arm remains in a sling.

Hyde, who is averaging 3.9 yards a carry, ranks 11th in the NFL in rushing yards (429) and is tied for second with six rushing touchdowns.

Of the 82 running backs with at least 10 carries this season, Draughn (2.1) and Davis (1.8) ranks 78th and 79th, respectively, in yards per attempt.

The other practice-squad running back is Kelvin Taylor, a rookie sixth-round pick.
