Donald Trump Once Used Jett Travolta’s Death as Excuse to Recall Hitting on Kelly Preston
A message of sympathy to a grieving mother from Donald Trump took on a decidedly creepy tone.
In a blog post written in 2009 following the death of their son, Jett, the GOP nominee reminded John Travolta‘s wife, Kelly Preston, that he has once tried to sleep with her.
“A long time ago, before I was married, I met Kelly Preston at a club and worked like hell to try and pick her up,” he wrote on the now-defunct Trump University blog.

The strange blog post was rediscovered by Mother Jones, which published it Tuesday as part of its “Trump Files” series, a “daily dose of telling episodes, strange but true stories, or curious scenes” from Trump’s life.
The liberal magazine said the message was written shortly after Travolta and Preston’s son, Jett, suffered a fatal seizure at age 16 while on a family vacation.
Trump went on to boast about his success with the opposite sex, writing: “In any event, my track record on this subject has always been outstanding, but Kelly wouldn’t give me the time of day,” he said.
