Post-war San Francisco under contruction - from unseen Chronicle archivess
Over the years, the San Francisco Chronicle has gotten photographs from many sources. On a recent trip to "The Morgue," as the papers archive rooms are amusingly, if not ghoulishly, referred to, I came across a folder that was labeled "San Francisco - Streets - Repairs." It wasn't what I was looking for. But, I decided to check it out. Sometimes the story finds you. One of the things I really liked about the images is that most of them were taken by San Francisco Chronicle reporters. It's the paper's history, too.
