Corey Seager, Michael Fulmer win Rookie of the Year honors

Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager swept the voting for NL Rookie of the Year award, and Tigers right-hander Michael Fulmer beat out Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez for the AL honor, it was announced Monday.

Eight other free agents did not accept the offers from their former teams by Monday’s 2 p.m. PST deadline: outfielders Jose Bautista (Toronto), Yoenis Céspedes (Mets), Ian Desmond (Texas), Dexter Fowler (Cubs) and Mark Trumbo (Baltimore), designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion (Toronto); closer Kenley Jansen (Dodgers), and third baseman Justin Turner (Dodgers).
