Police probe stabbing deaths of suburban St. Louis couple

FENTON, Mo. (AP) — Police are investigating the deaths of a couple whose stabbed bodies were found in their home in the St. Louis suburb of Fenton.

St. Louis County police say 65-year-old Michael Oppermann and 64-year-old Denise Oppermann may have died during a homicide-suicide.

Police say that officers responding to a call for them to check on the well-being of the couple found the bodies after a neighbor provided them with a key to the locked home. Authorities say there were no signs of forced entry.

Police say the Oppermanns each had been stabbed several times.
