New trilevel near Gourmet Ghetto has Golden Gate views

0

Twice a week, The Chronicle features a home on the market that caught our eye for its architecture, history or character.

Leading designers, builders and architects created this recently completed four-bedroom trilevel home near Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto neighborhood.

Berkeley designer John Newton worked with developers Joseph Huayllasco and Jose Antonio Godinez on the residence accented with panels of red Western cedar and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The entry level includes a family room with a wet bar and opens to a covered Ipe deck overlooking the grounds crafted by landscape architect Tracy Westphal.

Thermador appliances outfit an open chef’s kitchen in the great room that’s finished with red cedar cabinets and quartz counters.

Both the great room’s living and dining areas open to a view deck overlooking the bay.

All three levels have outdoor spaces, while the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge can be seen from both the great room and master suite.
