Stanford’s McCaffrey to enter NFL Draft

Christian McCaffrey will enter the NFL draft rather than return to Stanford in 2017, the record-breaking junior tailback announced Wednesday.

“After three incredible years at Stanford, I’ve decided the time is right to enter the NFL Draft,” he said in a statement released by the school.

Since I was 6 years old, I’ve wanted to play in the NFL.

McCaffrey leads the nation in all-purpose yards with 211.6 per game.

Setting records was secondary to the friends he made with his teammates, he said.
