After successful D-League stint, Damian Jones back with Warriors

In the past month, he has logged three stints with Golden State’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Jones, 21, tore his right pectoral muscle while weight lifting 12 days before going 30th overall to the Warriors in June’s NBA draft.

With Zaza Pachulia, David West, JaVale McGee and Anderson Varejao ahead of him on the depth chart, the Vanderbilt product will have a tough time carving out a significant role this season.

In his lone NBA appearance so far, a nine-minute cameo Dec. 10 in Memphis, Jones had no points, no rebounds, two turnovers and two fouls.
