Delivery rider snatched in gasoline station in Batangas shot dead, body dumped in Quezon
SARIAYA, Quezon – A delivery rider abducted by armed men in a gasoline station in Taal, Batangas Wednesday, August 17, was found dead on Eco-Tourism Road in Sitio Pontor, Barangay Bignay 2 here Thursday, August 18.
Police identified the victim as Eugene Cabello of Lemery, Batangas and a resident of Taal.
Police Lt. Col. William Angway, Sariaya police chief, said in a report that the victim sustained bullet wounds in the head and back.
His face was covered and hands behind his back when his body was found. Packing tape was wrapped around his head.
Jane, the victim’s wife, told police that her husband had just disembarked from a bus from Manila and was on his way home when he was kidnapped.
A closed circuit television camera footage from the gasoline station showed Cabello was abducted by unidentified armed men on board two vehicles.
Angway said that the victim may have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the area to mislead police.
Police are conducting in-depth investigation of the case.
Jane, in a Facebook post, condemned the murder of her husband. Netizens condoled with her and urged justice for the victim.
