ArmInfo. In developing bilateral defense cooperation, Bulgaria is guided by the principle of not harming a third party. Ambassador of Bulgaria to Armenia Kalin Anastasov stated on March 4 in Yerevan, at a reception on the occasion of the National Day of Bulgaria, in a conversation with journalists.
So, when asked to clarify whether Sofia is ready to develop cooperation in the defense sector with Yerevan, taking into account media reports that Azerbaijan recently bought a batch of weapons from Bulgaria. Anastasov stated that no one knows what kind of plane it was or what it was carrying.
"No one knows what kind of plane it was, for what reason it was flying. We have established good relations with both Armenia and Azerbaijan, and in these relations we are guided by the fact that this interaction does not pose a threat to third parties," he said adding that Yerevan and Bulgaria may explore the prospects for developing cooperation in the defense sector.
Earlier there were reports that the Azerbaijani cargo plane flew to Burgas, from where it transported the previously acquired weapons.
