U.S. State Dept spox accuses Russia of rhetoric that destabilizes South Caucasus
ArmInfo.U.S. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller accused Russia of using rhetoric that destabilizes the South Caucasus.
Thus, during the briefing, when asked to comment on the statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov who "accused Armenia of going towards the West, and then he promised that they will respond to Armenia," Miller noted that he is not going to respond directly to that question.
" Although it's the kind of - it's the kind of rhetoric that we have seen the Russian Government make that is destabilizing to the region, and it's why you've seen so many of Russia's neighbors be concerned about threatening rhetoric and threatening actions that the Russian Government has shown over and over it is willing to take against its neighbors. And I'll leave it at that," Miller said.
Earlier the Russian minister did not rule out revising the level of Armenian-Russian relations if Yerevan continues its obvious anti-Russian political course.
