Todd McLellan’s Oilers beat Sharks in OT
EDMONTON, Alberta — Taylor Hall scored with 1:01 left in overtime to lift Edmonton over the Sharks 4-3 on Wednesday night in Oilers head coach Todd McLellan’s first game against his former team.
Draisaitl set up Hall’s winner, feeding the winger a pass on a 2-on-1 that Hall tipped past Sharks goalie Martin Jones for his 12th goal of the season.
With less than nine minutes remaining, Tomas Hertl found Marleau at the side of the net, and Marleau netted his 11th goal of the season to tie the score 2-2.
After a scoreless first period, Edmonton put a goal on the scoreboard six minutes into the second when Teddy Purcell made a nifty pass at the blue line to Draisaitl, and he beat Jones through the legs on a partial breakaway for his ninth goal of the season.
The Sharks tied the game four minutes into the third period when Braun was able to beat Nilsson with a backhand shot through traffic for his first goal in 68 games.
The Oilers made it 2-1 eight minutes into the third when rookie Jujhar Khaira fed the puck in front to Eberle, who spun around and sent a no-look backhand shot top shelf past Jones for his third goal in three games.
