Chevy showcases special edition Silverado, Colorado, Heavy Duty Models
Distinguishing features include a bed-mounted sport bar with LED lights, 20-inch aluminum wheels wrapped by off-road tires and custom wheel flares, custom rocker guards, and bed-mounted GearOn utility rack, storage, and tie-down systems.
Based on the Silverado 1500 High Country crew cab with 4WD, it features larger, aggressive off-road tires mounted on 22-inch black aluminum wheels, and a new off-road package, which includes a front push bar, assist steps, and sport bar.
Painted glossy black and trimmed with rugged camo, the bright green accents extend to the six-piston disc brake calipers (part of an upgrade package that also includes 16.1-inch-diameter disc rotors) tie-down rings and bungee cords in the bed.
Inside are an ambient lighting package, under-seat storage and an instrument cluster display with a Bone Collector green-tinted lens, plus matching stitching accents on the leather-trimmed bucket seats, steering wheel, console, and custom-embroidered front-seat headrests.
Powered by Chevy's Duramax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel engine that produces 397 horsepower and 765 lb.-ft. of torque, and mated to an Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission, the Kid Rock Silverado 3500HD features a custom chrome grille with the "Born Free" logo and an enlarged Chevy Bowtie emblem, chrome exhaust stacks and patriotic graphics that flow across the body sides.
