A recent update to our commercial forum software now includes a boilerplate request for users to opt in/out of having their personal information disclosed to others. Regardless of the choice you make, AVSIM does not and will not disclose user information to third parties. The option dialogue is a new standard feature of the off-the-shelf forum software, and does not indicate any change in our longstanding privacy policy.
We believe we've found the cause of a system problem that was preventing avatar photos to be changed or added. If your avatar has disappeared, it may be necessary to upload it again.

Within the next few days, potentially starting as early as the evening of Sunday, 1 September (US Eastern Standard Time), we will be taking the AVSIM forums offline for at least one extended period lasting several hours to implement a system rebuild. Asobo has released World Update 18 for MSFS. This update includes Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, including new terrain mesh with resolution of up to 1m, handcrafted versions of the Munich (EDDM), Salzburg (LOWS), and Bern (LSZB) airports, and a variety of other enhancements and additions.
