Coal India Ltd (CIL) will work on priority to meet the 780 MT production target for FY24, its new Chairman PM Prasad said on Saturday. Prasad took charge as the Chairman of the mining giant on July 1. He succeeds Pramod Agrawal, who superannuated on June 30, 2023. "Underlining his priority, the chairman said CIL would achieve the 780 million tonne (MT) output target of FY2024 with all efforts and means available at its disposal," a Coal India statement said. Network infrastructure and 5G technology provider Nokia has signed a new long-term patent license agreement with Apple to replace the current deal between the two companies that is set to expire at the end of 2023. The deal, which enables Apple to use the Finnish company's technology in its products, covers Nokia's inventions in 5G and other technologies. Eleven unexploded shells were defused by the army's bomb disposal squad in a forward village in Kargil district of Ladakh, officials said on Saturday. The unit led by the Sappers of Forever in Operations division detected the ordnance during a sanitising drive in Kurbathang area, officials said. Auto component manufacturer Sundaram-Clayton Ltd has acquired an additional stake of 11.20 per cent in its subsidiary Emerald Haven Realty Ltd, the company said on Saturday. Emerald Haven Realty Ltd is engaged in real estate development under the brand TVS Emerald and consequent to the acquisition, the stake of Sundaram-Clayton Ltd in EHRL increased to 77.60 per cent from 66.40 per cent.
