17-year-old shot in Auburn Gresham, police say

A 17-year-old was shot in an Auburn Gresham business Sunday morning, police said. The teen was in the business on the 8100 block of South Halsted Street at around 8:29 a.m. when two people outside pulled out guns. They fired shots before driving away in a gray-colored SUV, according to police. He was struck by the gunfire and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. No arrests have been made, police said.

Man hospitalized after Humboldt Park house fire

One person was injured and three were displaced after a fire tore through a home in Humboldt Park early Sunday morning, police said. Chicago police and firefighters responded to the blaze on the 800 block of North St. Louis Street at around 12:47 a.m. A 59-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition with burns to his body, according to police. Three others were displaced. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
