Industry body ICEA has recommended various measures, including encouraging large Indian corporates to invest in semiconductor design and treating chip design and manufacturing as a strategic sector, to place India at the forefront of semiconductor product design and IP creation. India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), in its latest report, also recommended that India should establish an exclusive market exchange for electronics and hi-tech industry.

Delhi: MCD mayoral polls postponed

Polls to elect the new mayor and deputy mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi that were slated for April 26 stands postponed amid the non-appointment of a presiding officer, an official order said on Thursday. The civic body postponed the mayoral polls after the Raj Niwas issued a letter on behalf of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, stating that he "does not deem it appropriate to exercise his power as administrator to appoint the presiding officer in absence of the inputs from chief minister".

LTTS Q4 Results: Net profit grows marginally to Rs 340 crore

​L&T Technology Services (LTTS) on Thursday reported a marginal 0.2 per cent growth in net profit for the March quarter at Rs 340 crore on slower revenue growth and narrowing of margins. The company said it is planning to add 500 employees during the April-June period.
