The 5.5 Metre class was represented at the Stockholm International Boat Show in early March with a display within the classic boat area.The display had a good spot behind the side of a Folkboat and an old VW busUnfortunately, the show was cut short on the Wednesday (instead of ending on the Sunday) due to the risk of the coronavirus.

The first weekend in March brought 5.5m Sailors to St. Johann i. Pongau, Austria, for 3 days of skiing and dinner-conversations.Owners & Crews of AUT 4, GER 8, GER 65, GER 80, GER 102 and GER 112 enjoyed snow & sunshine as well as excellent Austrian food. Amongst the participants were also newcomers to the Class, whom we will possibly be seeing racing aboard GER 112 in summer. The costumes will be exchanged for proper sailing gear, then. Following discussions with Circolo Vela Torbole (CVT) regarding the Alpen Cup, which was scheduled to be held from 23-25 April, we regret to announce that the event has been cancelled. Due to the coronavirus, all sports events in Italy have already been cancelled until April 3, and with the many other issues with logistics and travelling to get to Garda and the restrictions many will have returning home afterwards, there was little choice but to cancel the event this year.
