The Alabama Supreme Court ruled on Friday that frozen embryos are “children,” and three couples who accused medical facilities in Mobile of accidentally destroying of their embryos have grounds to sue for “wrongful death.” The ruling, which reverses a lower court's dismissal of the couples’ lawsuit, cites Section 36.06 in the Alabama Constitution, which asserts that each person is made in God’s image: “Section 36.06 recognizes that this is true of unborn human life no less than it is of all other human life—that even before birth...
