If you’re planning to buy a new iPad after Tuesday’s Let Loose event, you’re also going to need some new gear to go with it: Today Amazon is selling the 2nd-gen AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case for $180, a savings of $69, and one of the few times we’ve ever seen this model drop to this price.

The design hasn’t changed since the original model arrived in 2019 but the 2nd-gen model from 2022 has longer battery life (6 hours vs 4.5 hours), improved audio quality... Читать дальше...

A new research note from Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities predicts some changes for the iPhone lineup of 2025. The contents of the note were first reported by 9to5Mac.

According to Pu, the larger non-Pro iPhone 17 will be referred to as a “slim” model, though we don’t know how much thinner it will be than the current iPhone 15 Plus and expected iPhone 16 Plus. According to Pu, the iPhone 17 lineup and its screen sizes will be as follows:

While Apple’s “Let Loose” event on Tuesday could be one of the shortest events in the company’s history at about 35 minutes, there will be plenty jammed into the short runtime. And if another report holds up, Apple may spend some of that time talking about a high-end Apple Pencil.

On Monday, Apple updated its websites worldwide with a new animation of the “Let Loose” logo, one where you can erase the image if you move a cursor over it on a Mac, or erase it with your finger on the iPhone and iPad. Читать дальше...

Apple’s Let Loose event will reportedly be one of the shortest ever

When Apple announced its Let Loose event two weeks ago, it caught us off-guard. With MacBook Airs in the rear-view mirror and WWDC just a month away, there didn’t seem to be enough products to fill an hour-long keynote.

It turns out the rumors were right. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in his weekly Power On newsletter, the Let Loose event “is expected to be about 35 minutes,” significantly shorter than other recent spring events:

The multi-colored band features black and brown to represent Black, Hispanic, and Latin communities and those impacted by HIV/AIDS, and pink, light blue... Читать дальше...

Welcome to our weekly Apple Breakfast column, which includes all the Apple news you missed last week in a handy bite-sized roundup. We call it Apple Breakfast because we think it goes great with a Monday morning cup of coffee or tea, but it’s cool if you want to give it a read during lunch or dinner hours too.

Is this event another non-event?

Forget new iPads, Apple is actually working on a touchscreen Mac

Macworld.com

New iPads are great, but longtime Apple users have always wanted to see a touchscreen Mac, something along the lines of the Microsoft Surface. Reports of such a device by Apple have barely surfaced (pun intended) in recent years, but a new patent offers some hope that itt may still one day arrive.

Apple was recently granted a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that covers exactly this. Patent 11,320,869 is titled, “Hinged keyboard accessory having multiple... Читать дальше...
