Leeds bought an end to Middlesbrough's nine game unbeaten run last night, edging a seven goal thriller at the Riverside Stadium. In a thoroughly open and entertaining encounter (for the neutral) where attack became the best form of defence and challenges were plentiful, Leeds just about justified their three points, though had to come from behind to get the job done. Having not been well since before the Blackburn game I’d said in my pregame reel that the good news was that I wasn’t playing tonight. We had a team of players a lot younger and fitter than I am who can play their hearts out until the final whistle. I also asked for us not to be so predictable but to catch them unawares. We showed some excellent team spirit. Looking like a team which is reassuring. Firpo had a decent game. Gary good. Many other positives. Messlier could have been better, but did make some critical saves too.
