The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 22nd April) - Could Leeds have to offload Gnonto to balance the books

0

Good Morning. It's Monday 22nd April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...

Could Leeds have to offload Gnonto to balance the books?

Wilfred Gnonto could be set for a Summer move out of Elland Road as Leeds look to balance their books! According to Harrogate journalist (and Leeds fan) Pete O'Rourke, sources close to the club have indicated that the Whites have slapped a £30m price tag of the 20yo Italian International, and will consider close offers. Leeds already have Dan James out wide on the right; a player who has already contributed 14 goals and 9 assists this season, but Gnonto due to his age, and potential has more appeal.

Does the move make sense? Gnonto has a very high sell on clause, thought to be in the region of 20%, which would see FC Zurich recoup £6m out of the deal if the asking price was achieved!

Piroe, Bamford or Joseph

Leeds travel to the Riverside Stadium this evening, hoping to rediscover their form in-front of goal. Creativity has been poor, and shots on target difficult to come by, since the Whites returned from International Duty a month ago. It is hoped that their nine day rest would give Farke's squad time to recharge their batteries, collect their composure and return to winning ways, but who should lead the line? It's clear from team selection that Farke doesn't fancy Piroe, and whilst Bamford gets into some great positions, his finishing can be woeful, but is Joseph the answer? The 20yo is yet to start a league game for the Whites, could tonight be the night?

Leeds to cut their losses on Arronson

Leeds look set to cut their losses, and rid themselves of USA International Brenden Arronson this Summer. It's been almost two years since he joined the Whites from RB Salzburg in a £24.7m deal, but after just 28 league starts, it looks like his Elland Road career is over. He was one of the first to jump ship last Summer, with Union Berlin snapping him up on a season long loan without a moments notice; a decision they now regret. With a 'Whoscored' rating of just 6.30, and 1014 minutes of game time under his belt, the midfielder has slipped down to 22nd in the register of what is a very poor side. Leeds will be looking for offers in the region of £10m for the 23yo!
