Mercia Cycling Club

Good afternoon, Thanks to the organisers of the two recent club rides from the Henhurst Club. A total of almost £800 has been raised for the Air Ambulance and the Red Cross, well done Kieron, Caroline, Janet , Ian, Anne, Tony and to all who rode and supported the rides. Special thanks to Peter’s CTC friends who we look forward to having join us again on future rides. STOP PRESS: A session on the velodrome in Derby has been booked, 2 hours at 8pm on April 3rd. The evening is open to all abilities and ages,  bike hire is available form the Venue.

Many thanks to all who attended our annual, January Charity ride in support of the Midlands Air Ambulance charity this year. Over a 100 riders singed on for the 60k and 100k rides raising over £600 for the cause. It was hearting to see so many different clubs attending and we look forward in hope, to seeing you all again next year when we can do it all again. Good afternoon everyone. The club time trial season is upon us!! The first event is at 7pm next Tuesday on the Anslow course. Signing on in the Henhurst Club from 6.30. Entry fee remains at £4 with £3 of that going to Cycling Timetrials. If there is a problem with road closure permission is in place to run the event at Sudbury. The start time will change to 7.30 from mid May to mid July and the final event is on 29th August. The events on 28 March and 4 April will be over either 5 or 10 miles depending on the light conditions. Читать дальше...

Hi all,   This season Coalville Wheelers are running a separate guest/2nd claim TT series on a Wednesday evening. Details are attached. First event 5th April 2023. This will be open to all guest and second claim riders from CTT affiliated clubs (CWCC riders not eligible). We will have a new trophy which will be given to the winning team at the end of the season (to be returned before the end of the following season).  Points will be awarded to all riders in the normal points series. Good morning, What an amazing night at the quiz last evening!! Great job Caroline and team , hundreds of pounds raised for the defribulater fund. Thanks to everybody involved and to the South Pennine for their support. Don’t forget the 100 and 50 k rides on Sunday starting at 10am from the Henhurst Club. good evening all The fund raising quiz for the defribulater fund is this Thursday at the Riverside at 7.30 The 100k and 50k rides for the fund are this Sunday, sign on from 9.30 at the Henhurst Club. The 100 goes south to Twycross and back to the club  and the 50 goes west through the Ridwares and back. £5 to ride with cake and a drink at the finish with proceeds going to the fund. How much slower does winter make us? This coming weekend marks the beginning of the 2023 time trial season, events will come thick and fast now and time trials are popping up all over the place. You might be thinking that it’s a bit cold to be riding around in a skinsuit, and you wouldn’t be wrong. One such race is taking place on the BS19 course in Ely near Cambridge.
