«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

A video posted to Donald Trump’s account on his social media network Monday included references to a “unified Reich." The headline appears among messages flashing across the screen such as “Trump wins!!” and “Economy booms!” Other headlines appear to be references to World War I. The word “Reich” is often largely associated with Nazi Germany’s Third Reich. The 30-second video appeared on Trump’s account at a time when he has repeatedly faced criticism for using language and rhetoric associated with the Nazis. Читать дальше...

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

The Biden administration’s push to reclassify marijuana as a less-dangerous drug is going forward without the support of the nation’s premier narcotics agency. Newly released government records show the Drug Enforcement Administration requested more information on supporting science to reclassify marijuana but the Justice Department decided to move ahead without the drug agency’s signoff. «SFGate» (sfgate.com)

Connecticut's Supreme Court has ruled that two Republican candidates for the state legislature should not have been fined thousands of dollars for criticizing the governor in their 2014 campaign ads. The court overturned the fines on Monday, saying they violated the constitutional free speech rights of Sen. Rob Sampson and former Sen. Joe Markley. The State Elections Enforcement Commission had found that Sampson and Markley violated the rules of the state's public campaign financing program by criticizing then-Gov. Читать дальше...

Abortion access advocates in Nevada say they have submitted almost twice the number of petition signatures needed to qualify a measure for the November ballot that would enshrine reproductive rights in the state constitution. Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom President Lindsey Harmon told reporters Monday that more than 200,000 signatures have been submitted to election officials across Nevada’s 17 counties. Moose kills Alaska man attempting to take photos of her newborn calves

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

Authorities in Alaska say a moose has killed a 70-year-old man in the community of Homer. Two men were walking through the brush trying to take photos of two newborn calves when authorities say the mother moose attacked one of the men. He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second man was uninjured. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game says moose are not normally aggressive but can become so if provoked. A female moose protecting young calves will be among the most aggressive of the species that people encounter.
