The Republican National Committee’s Washington headquarters has been briefly evacuated as police investigated two vials of blood addressed to ex-President Donald Trump following his takeover of the national party apparatus. U.S. Capitol Police say hazardous-materials teams were called in Wednesday after the vials were discovered. It's unclear if anyone came into contact with the blood or to whom it belongs. A person familiar with the situation says the vials were addressed to Trump. Trump’s handpicked leadership team recently took over the RNC.

The median price of previously occupied homes rose 5.7% to $407,600 — the tenth straight increase and a record for April.

Police say a shooting early Wednesday at a linen company in a Philadelphia suburb killed two people dead and wounded three others. The shooting at Delaware County Linen in Chester occurred around 8:30 a.m., and a suspect was taken into custody at the scene. A motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Former Republican presidential candidate and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has purchased a minority stake in Buzzfeed. Shares of the company are rocketing higher before the opening bell Wednesday. Ramaswamy acquired a 7.7% stake in Buzzfeed, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ramaswamy said in the filing that he believes Buzzfeed’s stock is undervalued. He is looking to speak with the company’s board and management.
