The Nation's Weather
The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, October 29, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A large storm will continue to track across the West
tomorrow, bringing rain and mountain snow to much of the
Rockies. Any snow can lead to slippery spots on roads,
especially in the higher elevations. Meanwhile, strong winds
will continue across the center of the nation, blowing
around any unsecured holiday decorations and bringing a high
risk of wildfires from the Great Lakes to New Mexico and
Texas. Thunderstorms, some severe, can develop from Kansas
to Minnesota overnight, and will be capable of producing
damaging wind gusts, hail and flooding downpours. With the
exception of a few showers in upstate New York and along the
Atlantic coast in the Southeast, much of the East will
remain dry. Temperatures will continue to trend higher than
previous days, and much higher than historical averages.
