French authorities are threatening to ban access to Shein after discovering the e-commerce site sold childlike sex dolls. France’s consumer watchdog found the dolls last week, stating they had a child-pornographic nature. The matter has been referred to public prosecutors. Economy minister Roland Lescure said he would call for a ban if it happens again. The watchdog sent a formal notice to Shein, urging prompt action. Shein, founded in China in 2012, is facing criticism for labor practices and environmental issues. The company is set to open its first permanent shop in Paris.
