President Donald Trump has huddled with House Republicans in a session that was billed as aligning their agenda at the start of a crucial midterm election year. But the Republican president spent more time Tuesday rehashing old grievances than he did talking about the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro or specific steps he's taking to address the public's cost-of-living concerns. Trump did try to rally the GOP conference, though, telling the lawmakers gathered at the Kenney Center that, “We’ve had the most successful first year of any president in history and it should be a positive.”
