Cambodia’s government has arrested and extradited a prominent tycoon to China. Chen Zhi, accused of leading a massive online scam, was wanted by U.S. authorities. Cambodia’s Interior Ministry announced the extradition on Tuesday after months of investigation. Chen, chairman of Cambodia’s Prince Holding Group, was accused by the U.S. and U.K. of running a transnational criminal network. Scam centers have proliferated across Southeast Asia, defrauding victims worldwide. The U.S. and U.K. have imposed sanctions against Chen, who was charged with wire fraud and money laundering. Chen and his group have denied any wrongdoing.
