Tens of thousands of Czechs have rallied to support President Petr Pavel in his dispute with the country's foreign minister. The demonstrators packed Prague's Old Town Square, with some gathering at nearby Wenceslas Square. The conflict centers on Pavel's refusal to appoint Filip Turek as environment minister. Turek, from the right-wing Euro-skeptic party led by Foreign Minister Petr Macinka, faced backlash after racist, homophobic, and sexist Facebook posts surfaced. Pavel plans to meet Prime Minister Andrej Babiš on Wednesday to discuss the issue. Small rallies supporting Pavel also took place across the country.
