The opposition requested the vote after Pavel accused Foreign Minister Petr Macinka of blackmail for refusing to appoint a contentious minister representing his party. Macinka leads the Motorists for Themselves party and he threatened the president with political consequences. Tens of thousands of Czech rallied Sunday in support of Pavel.
