U.S. forces have boarded and taken control of a seventh oil tanker connected with Venezuela as the Trump administration continues its efforts to take control of the oil in the South American country. U.S. Southern Command said in a social media post Tuesday that U.S. forces apprehended the Motor Vessel Sagitta “without incident” and that the tanker was “operating in defiance of President Trump’s established quarantine of sanctioned vessels in the Caribbean.”

The sightings come amid the most severe solar storm since 2003.

Officials in Colombia say that the former rebel group Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, is violating a 2016 peace deal with the Colombian government by failing to relinquish gold, land and other assets to fund reparations for the group’s victims. Gunmen have attacked a village in western Niger, killing at least 31 people and seriously injuring four others. The attack occurred on Sunday in the commune of Gorouol in the Tillabéri region, according to student organizations. They reported that the victims were executed by unidentified individuals.
