PAUL SCHOLES son Arron has urged Matthijs de Ligt to snub Manchester United and join Barcelona as the Reds are “a team of bell***s”.

The Ajax centre-half has emerged as one of the hottest commodities in Europe this season with a host of top flight clubs battling it out to lure the 19-year-old away from Holland.

Barcelona and United look to be the front runners for De Ligt, though the son of Old Trafford legend Scholes even admitted the centre-half should swerve Manchester for the Nou Camp.

Arron tweeted: “As much as I’d love to see De Ligt at United, I wouldn’t even wish that on him.

“Go to Barca and enjoy your career mate because we’re w*** and have a team full of bell***s.”

De Ligt looked set to be heading to Spain before Arron’s word of advice, as the La Liga champions signed his close friend and Ajax colleague Frenkie de Jong for £65million in January.

The holding midfielder will join Barca in the summer, and reports suggest De Ligt could follow after holding talks with Nou Camp chiefs.

However, the centre-back believes he is worth LESS than his pal, suggesting defenders usually cost cheaper than midfielders.

De Ligt said: “Will I be more expensive than Frenkie? I don’t think so, no.

“Normally teams spend more money on midfield players than defenders. I really don’t know.

“It’s up to Ajax – it’s not something that I decide. We shall see.”
