Iranian Hulk to make MMA debut… with his Brazilian namesake a possible opponent
GARGANTUAN bodybuilder Iranian Hulk says his MMA debut is coming this year – with his Brazilian namesake a possible opponent.
Sajad Gharibi, who weighs 390lbs and is also known as the Persian Hercules, told his 450,000 Instagram followers he has accepted a challenge from Brazil.
The 27-year-old – as wide as a small car and as heavy as a lion – sent out a weighty threat in January.
Gharibi posted: “Be brave and Invite me to fight, rather than hiding behind your sponsors.
“I am ready to fight you. Show me what you’ve got to say in the ring.”
And now, after being called out, he revealed: “So I’m finally accepting my first professional fight from a Brazilian fighter before 2020.”
That sent speculation soaring of a bout with the Brazilian Hulk, Romario dos Santos Alves.
The 29-year-old went on Instagram last month to claim he would “tear off” Gharibi’s head.
Alves, though, is a mere 229 pounds.
And at 5ft 8ins tall, he is six inches shorter than his Asian counterpart.
So far the combined fighting experience of the two Hulks is a big fat super-zero.

But for their Instagram followers and lovers of oddball match-ups, a clash between the two offers plenty to marvel at.
Gharibi can lift 396lbs – virtually his own body weight – and three years ago said he wanted to join the Iranian Armed Forces to fight Isis.
But instead he posts photos of himself next to tiny things – be it a can of Fanta or his iPhone – and tucks into huge english breakfasts to keep his weight up.
